Introduction to Baselworld 2016

If there was ever such a thing as ‘watch heaven’ then this would be it. All of the large brands that are not owned by the Richemont group will be making an appearance this week in Basel, Switzerland. A show case of the latest trends and innovation in the wonderful world of horology.

Like most, I am certain that you have attended a large event such as a football game, or an exhibition of some sort like a motor show. Baselworld dwarfs everything I have ever attended put together. It is frightening, and for anyone who wants to come along, I suggest some very comfortable walking shoes!

Baselworld has been running for many years and is a staple in the watch event calendar. While the watches are a big draw, the ability to see, meet and network with many people behind the brands, from CEOs to watchmakers, is a massive incentive. That proximity and ease of contact is what we enjoy the most, not to mention that it is also a jolly good knees-up when some us of get to meet up only on an annual basis. Baselworld: the great gatherer of people.
